PS5 HDMI port damage
The HDMI port is the most common PS5 console repair we handle in Belgaum. A cable yanked out at an angle, or a console moved while still plugged in, bends the thin pins or cracks the solder joints that hold the port to the motherboard. Symptoms include "no signal" on the TV, flickering video, sound with no picture, or a picture that only appears when the cable is held at an angle.
We open the console, inspect the port under magnification and check the nearby HDMI retimer chip, because a damaged port can short that chip too. The fix is to remove the old port with hot air, clean the pads, and solder a new port pin by pin. We then test 4K output, HDR and audio on a real TV before handing it back.
DualSense stick drift & Hall effect sensors
Stick drift is when your character or camera moves on its own even though you are not touching the thumbstick. On the PS5 DualSense and PS4 DualShock 4, each stick uses small carbon-track potentiometers. Over time the track wears and dust gets inside, so the controller reads a false position.
Cleaning only helps for a short while. A proper controller repair means desoldering the worn stick module and fitting a new one. For heavy players, we can discuss Hall effect stick modules, which use magnets instead of a rubbing track, so they do not wear out the same way. After the repair we check dead zones and every axis in a stick-test tool so the pad feels accurate again.
Nintendo Switch power IC faults
A Nintendo Switch that will not turn on, will not charge, or only works while docked often has a fault in its charging and power chips. Cheap third-party docks and chargers are a frequent cause: they can send the wrong voltage and damage the USB-C charging IC or the power management IC on the board.
On the bench we measure current draw with a USB meter, check the power rails with a multimeter and use thermal inspection to find a shorted part. Once we find it, we replace the failed chip or USB-C port with micro-soldering, then test charging, docked mode and battery life. Joy-Con drift repairs are also handled here.
Xbox overheating & thermal paste
