Stick drift repair for DualSense, DualShock and Xbox controllers
Standard analog sticks use small carbon tracks called potentiometers to measure position. Over time the tracks wear down and get dirty, so the stick reports movement even when you are not touching it. Cleaning sometimes helps for a short while, but the lasting fix is to replace the stick module.
We desolder the worn stick from the controller board, clean the pads and solder in a new module. Then we test it across its full range, including the centre dead zone, to make sure the drift is gone.
Hall effect stick upgrade
Hall effect sticks measure position with magnets and sensors instead of rubbing contacts, so there is nothing to wear out in the same way. Where a compatible Hall effect module is available for your controller, we can fit it as a longer-lasting alternative to a standard replacement stick. Ask us when you book and we will explain the options for your model.
Buttons, triggers and adaptive trigger faults
Buttons that stick, double-press or stop working, shoulder buttons that no longer click and DualSense adaptive triggers that feel wrong are repaired by cleaning, replacing button membranes or swapping worn parts.
Charging port, battery and connection problems
If your controller won't charge, only charges with the cable held a certain way, dies quickly or keeps disconnecting, we check the USB port, the battery and the charging circuit, and replace the faulty part.
Joy-Con drift and rail repair
Joy-Cons are famous for drift. We replace the analog stick, check the ribbon cable and fix worn rail locks so the Joy-Con clicks firmly onto your Switch again.
